The PCDC works with and through partners to: capture, develop, and disseminate knowledge; provide field-based advocacy and advisory support services; and contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Paris Declaration. The PCDC focuses on procurement but also addresses other implementation capacity development functions.
Capture, develop and disseminate knowledge
The PCDC collects and develops practical methods and tools to support the development of national capacities in procurement as well as other implementation functions. Tools, strategies, training materials, case studies and other resources will be made available online for colleagues and partners in the development community.
Provide field-based advocacy and advisory support services
PCDC team members assist partner countries, both on a remote basis and through field-based engagement, in developing procurement capacities.
Contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Paris Declaration
The PCDC contributes to the OECD/DAC Joint Venture for Procurement in meeting its mandate to fulfill the Paris Declaration commitments to strengthen national procurement systems, support capacity development, and use local country systems. The PCDC contributes to this Joint Venture by providing support in measuring Paris Declaration Indicator 2b; contributing to workshops on procurement capacity development and performance management; and driving improvements within the UN system towards achievement of Paris Declaration target indicators.
