Date: 2009-04-03

A new system has been introduced in Uganda to track public expenditure and manage the flow of goverment funds. A five-day workshop on the tracking system has recently been held at the Economic Policy Research Centre at Makerere University. The system is expected to facilitate the efficient and transparent utilisation of funds and help provide the required services to the public in a timely manner.  This newly introducued tool will help combat the huge financial losses incurred by Uganda each year through corruption and procurement malpractices.
