Workshop on Sustainable Public Procurement in the Arab Region

Cairo, Egypt, 4-6 May 2009 - A three day workshop is being organised by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The main objective of the workshop is to sensitize and raise the awareness of high-level Government decision makers on Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP).
This event stems from the recommendations of the Roundtable Meeting of Experts on Sustainable Consumption and Production in the Arab Region, held in Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates, 17-19 March 2008.
