European Public Procurement Seminar: Sustainable Procurement

Maastrict, Netherlands, 20-21 April 2009 - Sustainability issues have come to the fore and found their legal basis in the European procurement directives. This seminar, organised by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), will examine the possibilities of integrating social and environmental considerations into the procurement process. As some Member States have embarked on sustainability strategies, best practices from different European countries will be explored and evaluated.

The seminar is intended for public officials of the EU Member States, Candidate Countries and European Institutions. It should be mainly of interest to procurement practitioners, policy makers, academics, and the private sector.
