Maastrict, Netherlands, 4-5 June 2009 - This seminar, being organised by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), will focus on the amending directive on remedies, Directive 2007/66/EC, and its implementation in the Member States. It will also examine the recent case-law of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in the field of public procurement. The amending directive needs to be implemented by the Member States by December this year. Key innovations of the amending directive, the standstill period and the tackling of illegal direct awards will be evaluated. Considering the growing significance and impact of ECJ case-law for and on European public procurement policy and legislation, special attention will be paid to recent developments in ECJ case-law in the field of procurement, including that on remedies.

The seminar is aimed at the legal profession (lawyers, judges), as well as to policy makers, public officials, academics, and the private sector.
