The UNDP Capacity Development Group (CDG) has just launched the 'Capacity is Development' Global Event website www.capacityisdevelopment.org. The website is the content and information hub of the upcoming Global Event to be held on 17-19 March, 2010 in Marrakech, Morocco, and the follow-up action thereafter.

The Global Event will bring together world leaders from the North and South to spotlight the policy, institutional reforms and investment decisions that have enabled capable states and societies to sustain human development. This is an opportunity to share the experience, understand the evidence and engage more partners on capacity development - know what makes institutions work better and deliver on vision; learn from those that perform well over time; and ask why some are more adaptable and resilient to shocks. This, is the 'how' of development.

The 'Capacity is Development' event will thus provide the opportunity to learn from country experiences, offer responses to key capacity challenges, and promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise on the institutional transformations that have led towards the achievement of the MDGs and to managing economic, conflict-related and environmental shocks.

The website allows you to access background and logistical information, news updates, videos, research resources, and opens a window to the virtual knowledge fair. The site is available in English and French. The Spanish and Arabic versions will be available soon.
