Facilitated by UNEP, two regional training workshops on Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) were held in December 2009 in Tunisia and Malaysia. In Tunis 28 participants from francophone African countries attended the event, while Kuala Lumper was attended by 23 participants from Asian countries. The training workshops were groundbreaking in the creation of regional networks for the promotion of SPP in the respective geographical areas.
