In collaboration with other UN agencies, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has recently published the first 4 of 10 sustainable procurement guidelines. The published guidelines are for:


In order to respond to the different levels of market readiness to provide sustainable goods and services, the guidelines are divided into 2 regions:

Region 1 guidelines are more suited to countries where more sustainable products are easier to find whereas;

Region 2 guidelines are designed for locations where sustainable products are less available.
